Heartbreak Week 2008

So it’s only Thursday and it’s already been a banner week, each day better than the previous. What better way to top off the week? What could tomorrow possibly bring that tops what happened today?

Shattered Screen

My satin-lined pockets and the smooth-as-silk design of the iPhone exterior were incompatible today as my iPhone met the bathroom floor with a crash – twice. The phone won round 1 (yay). Round two goes to the floor. I rarely take my phone with me to the bathroom yet twice today I forgot it was in my pocket or I was in a hurry and couldn’t afford the extra trip required to keep the phone out of the bathroom (cuz that’s just kinda yuk).

Shattered Heart

Just as the iPhone screen shattered, so did my fragile heart. Then like a dumbass I answered the phone and felt the pain of shards poking my ear. No blood, just shards of unhappiness piercing the skin of my bruised and battered shell.

Weeping at the Loss

How can I go on living with such destruction? Will I be able to repair the damage?

More importantly, how much is this shit gonna cost me?!?

P.S. Ironically, I’ve been seeing this video all week on VH1’s Jump Start. I didn’t really appreciate it until tonight.

Time Flies

I can’t believe how this last month has flown by. We had visitors, painted the house, Megan grew like a weed, I went back to work. She is the best baby – sleeps 8-10 hours a night without waking, smiles tons (especially at her brother) and has the sweetest disposition and voice.

I can’t believe she’s two months old already! Time is flying quickly by and she’s growing so much. She’s smiling and interacting with people now and she will make some cooing noises when I’m talking to her. She’s got the most mooshable cheeks – yes that’s a word.

Megan Elizabeth

Megan Elizabeth arrived on March 9, 2007 at 9:22am weighing 7lbs 15oz and 20.5″ long. She’s a great baby with a beautiful head of hair that has two shades of brown in it. She was screaming even before she was fully born and screamed the whole time in the delivery room but hasn’t cried even close to that since. Big brother Ian is great with her. He talked to her about sharing his toys with her and showing her all the stuff in his room. It took a couple days but now he understands that there’s no longer a baby in mommy’s tummy.

So without further ado, here are some pictures from her first day in this world.

At some point I’ll get more pictures uploaded into a slideshow viewer. These are just from 3/9 most of which were nudies and I’m not in to posting baby nudies on the ‘net.
