The Day I Read a Book
In school I used to write the outline after I had already written the paper. It was easier for me to get into the flow of the report than to plan it out thru an outline. So true to form I have read the book club book after the book club get-together (thanks Amy for the loan!). Been a while since I read a non-work-related book.
The Road by Cormac McCarthy
Very intriguing book. I actually was able to read this book all in one day (yay for nice weather and baby naps). One thing I really enjoyed about the writing was that I was able to focus on the events of the story rather than the characters themselves. I knew very little about them and didn’t have to trip over the pronunciation of names of people or towns (Rodanthe – Rodantheeeee? wtf?). I will admit that I didn’t cry although I think I came close. My interpretation of the ending was uplifting rather than morbid. I will definitely see the movie, especially if Viggo’s getting nekkid.
Yeah, that’s it. I fail at book reports even now. Good book. Quick read. 4/5 stars.
